About me

Christina Orieschnig

Hello there, I’m Chris. I’ve been in love with hydrology ever since I watched my father’s involvement in river restoration projects in the Alps as a child. After pursuing MSc studies in both Conservation and Environmental Engineering, I’m now doing my PhD in Montpellier, France.

On the Mekong

Currently I’m investing all my energies on my PhD research. The aim of this research is to better understand the hydrological dynamics of the Mekong delta in Cambodia. For this purpose, I’m not just using remote sensing and hydrological modelling, I’m also spending time in the field, gathering data and interviewing local stakeholders.

Current News

A PhD does not just consist of either sitting hunched behind a computer screen or chasing data across a Cambodian floodplain. Here’s what I’ve been up to lately.
